Main event is the “THULE-TROPHY” on Saturday, 23rd November 2003, at 4.00 pm (GMT +1). This is a nine round Swiss tournament with moderate blitz (5+2). Here the national youth teams from Germany, France, Iceland and Sweden will take part, six strong players from Iceland as well as six more players who could qualify in a tournament on the server. The prize fund for this tournament is about EUR 1.250 (appr. $ 1.250).

This qualification tournament will take place on Saturday, 16th November, at 4.00 pm (GMT +1). Everyone may participate in this tournament, there is no need to buy a special program. Just download the free trial version. Then log in, create an account and choose a handle (nickname). Finally, you have to register for these tournament. The best six players from this qualification event will play the “THULE-TROPHY” on 23rd November. Apart from these qualifying places for the THULE-TROPHY, every tenth participant will win a rating prize, like for example CDs about the world champions Lasker, Alekhine or Tal and current issues of ChessBaseMagazine. So taking part in this tournament promises not only attractive chess, but also a good chance to take away a fine gift.
