10/12/2025 – From October 5 to October 14, the European Team Chess Championships are taking place in Batumi, Georgia. In the Open section, Germany — runner-up in 2023 in Budva — is the top seed, followed by the Netherlands, Hungary (with Rapport and Leko), and Azerbaijan (featuring Mamedyarov and Radjabov as team captain). In the women’s section, Georgia 1 is the clear Elo favorite, followed by Poland and Ukraine. The defending champion is Bulgaria. | Watch the games live with video commentary. Round 6

The 2025 European Team Chess Championship are taking place from 4 to 15 October in Batumi, Georgia. The biennial event features separate open and women's tournaments, each played over nine rounds under the Swiss system. A total of 76 teams are registered - 40 in the open section and 36 in the women's - with strong participation from across the continent.

The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 more minutes for the rest of the game. There is a 30-second increment starting from move one.

Rounds start daily at 13.00 CEST. The one rest day is scheduled for Saturday, 11 October.
